Job Summary
We are seeking to hire a Project & People Manager to join our Lagos team on a 4-month contract, with the potential for extension based on performance. This hybrid role combines project management of engineering projects with people leadership, ensuring that our operations run smoothly while our team grows with the right cultural fit. The successful candidate will act as both a project driver and a people leader: managing technical projects and engineering staff, while also implementing the founders’ cultural vision with kindness, fairness, and firmness. This individual will be instrumental in shaping our workplace culture in Nigeria, ensuring every team member is aligned with Lytup’s mission, values, and standards.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
• Lead and coordinate engineering projects from planning to execution.
• Manage timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification.
• Oversee engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and accountability.
• Ensure clear reporting and communication between the Lagos team and company leadership.
People Management:
• Translate and implement the founders’ cultural vision within the Lagos office.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent, with a strong ability to identify individuals who are not an ideal fit.
• Support performance management processes with kindness and firmness
• Providing coaching when needed, but addressing issues decisively.
• Promote an environment of collaboration, respect, and productivity.
• Act as a bridge between staff and leadership, fostering alignment and trust.
Requirements:
• A degree and experience in engineering would help a lot!
• Proven experience in project management (preferably in engineering or technical projects).
• Strong people management and HR skills, with a track record of building or maintaining company culture.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to balance kindness with firmness—maintaining empathy while holding people accountable.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Must be based in Lagos and available for in-person work.
Contract Terms:
• Duration: 4 months (with potential extension based on performance).
Location: Lagos, Nigeria (in person).
