Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure development projects in Akure, Ondo, NG . This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of successfully managing complex, large-scale projects from initiation through to completion. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work remotely for a portion of the week while collaborating in person with project teams and stakeholders. Your expertise will encompass resource allocation, risk management, stakeholder communication, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of project management methodologies, strong leadership capabilities, and excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills. You will oversee all project phases, including feasibility studies, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Key responsibilities include:
Leading the planning, execution, and successful delivery of major infrastructure development projects. Developing comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements. Managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and implementing cost control measures. Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and developing contingency plans. Coordinating and managing all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies. Leading and motivating project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Ensuring adherence to project quality standards and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle. Overseeing the procurement process, including tender evaluations and contract management. Monitoring project progress, reporting on key milestones, and addressing any deviations from the plan. Conducting project reviews and post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned. Ensuring effective communication channels are maintained between all project parties. Managing changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field; Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant focus on infrastructure development projects. Proven track record of successfully managing projects of similar scale and complexity. In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile) and tools. Strong understanding of construction processes, engineering principles, and relevant regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in a hybrid work environment. Strong financial acumen and budget management skills. Experience in risk assessment and management.
