Job Description
Our client, a leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee key projects based in **Port Harcourt, Rivers, NG**. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to manage projects from both a remote setting and through on-site supervision, ensuring successful execution from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, hydro), project management methodologies, and stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects, managing budgets, timelines, resources, and risks while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. This is a critical role in driving the transition towards sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of renewable energy projects, including feasibility studies, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Manage project risks, issues, and changes, implementing mitigation strategies as needed. Oversee contractor and vendor performance, ensuring quality of work and adherence to contractual obligations. Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, operations, finance, and legal departments. Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and investors, to ensure project success and compliance. Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular progress reports for senior management. Ensure all projects are executed in compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and company policies. Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and timely financial reporting. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in project management and renewable energy development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or a related technical field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus. Professional Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years specifically in the renewable energy sector. Proven track record of successfully managing complex energy projects from initiation to completion. Strong knowledge of various renewable energy technologies and their integration. Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and methodologies. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote work with on-site requirements. Understanding of regulatory frameworks and permitting processes in the energy sector. This role requires a commitment of at least 3 days per week on-site in **Port Harcourt, Rivers, NG**, with the flexibility for remote work for the remainder.
