We invite you to join us on a technical support contract. The position is
based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
The Solarization Project Manager (M/F) will work in a major energy project
is based in Nigeria :
• Construction of a 5 MWp PV Plant with 3 x 2.2 MWh Battery Containers,
integrated into a 6.6 kV system.
• The system is designed to operate alongside an existing Gas Turbine
Plant, reducing fuel consumption and providing backup in case of
turbine failure.
• Construction is currently 90% complete, with outstanding activities
including installation and final connections of the MV step-up
substation, delivery station, battery PCS, control systems, and
connection to the main station.
• Remaining project duration: 3 months (1 month installation + 2 months
commissioning).
The position we are offering involves the following main responsibilities:
SITE MANAGEMENT & COORDINATION
• plan and supervise construction teams (up to 40 workers during
installation, 20 during commissioning);
• coordinate suppliers and service providers, ensuring smooth interface
between different scopes;
• act as the main liaison between site and office teams (Design Office,
HQ, Suppliers).
COMMISSIONING & TECHNICAL OVERSIGHT
• review and implement commissioning procedures and plans;
• prepare and oversee supplier interventions for commissioning
activities;
• ensure compliance with contractual requirements and technical
specifications.
REPORTING & ADMINISTRATION
• provide daily reporting on progress, challenges, and KPIs (HSE,
QA/QC);
• deliver weekly/monthly reports for internal stakeholders and the
client;
• manage financial follow-up, invoicing, and project schedule updates;
• track administrative tasks (Permit to Work, downtime,
non-conformities).
CLIENT & STAKEHOLDER INTERFACE
• serve as focal point for communication with the client (PNL);
• manage handover process after successful commissioning and
performance testing. You have a strong knowledge of Electrical Engineering (LV, AC/DC, MV 6.6kV). You have an experience with control & communication systems, SCADA engineering, IP networks, and protocols. Hands-on experience in Solar PV, Battery Storage, Gas/Diesel Generators, Hybrid Systems. You have proven background in electrical commissioning. You are familiar with IEC and EN electrical standards. You are recognised for your leadership and teamwork skills. You have a solution-oriented mindset, adaptable and versatile. A strong communication skills; and fluency in English required.
