OBEK Group is a newly established EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation & Commissioning) company focused on delivering complex projects across oil, gas, petrochemical, drilling (geotech, water, oil, gas, geothermal), commercial real estate, terminals, roads, and infrastructure construction sectors in Nigeria and beyond.
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Finance & Accounts (HFA) to lead our financial operations of the OBEK Group. As a founding executive team member, the HFA will establish robust financial systems, drive fundraising and capital structuring, ensure transparent reporting, and provide strategic leadership to support growth in EPCIC and infrastructure sectors. The HFA will act as both guardian of financial integrity and strategic partner to the CEO & Board.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Capital Structure: Develop and execute group-wide financial strategy aligned with OBEK’s growth and diversification; Structure financing for large EPC projects; Engage with banks, DFIs, sovereign wealth funds, and equity investors.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Build integrated financial models for multi-sector EPC projects; Monitor project profitability, cash flows, and ROI.
Financial Operations & Controls: Establish robust treasury, accounting, reporting, and tax systems; Implement ERP/finance systems; Enforce IFRS/Nigerian GAAP compliance.
Risk Management: Develop frameworks for hedging FX, commodity price exposure, and interest rates; Create a financial risk register.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with lenders, investors, regulators (SEC Nigeria, CAC, FIRS, CBN); Report to the group CEO on financial health.
Governance & Compliance: Ensure tax planning efficiency; Lead internal and external audit process.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
MBA or professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, etc.)
Minimum of 15 years' experience in finance leadership, preferably within the EPCIC industry.
Core Competencies & Skills
Expertise in EPC/EPCIC project finance (oil, gas, petrochemical, and infrastructure).
Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax regimes, JV accounting, and multi-currency reporting.
Investor relations and capital markets experience.
Ability to lead in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment.
Negotiation of complex project financing agreements.
