Our client, a prestigious educational institution in Makurdi, Benue, NG , is seeking a highly qualified and passionate Senior High School Math Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective mathematics instruction to students in grades 9-12. This role requires a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, a commitment to fostering student learning, and the ability to inspire young minds. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in secondary education and a proven track record of student success.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum and school objectives. Deliver high-quality mathematics instruction using a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles. Create a positive, stimulating, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning. Assess student progress through regular assignments, quizzes, tests, and other evaluation methods. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic performance. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns. Supervise students in classrooms, laboratories, and other school settings. Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development activities, and professional development programs. Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and progress reports. Integrate technology into teaching to enhance student engagement and understanding. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills among students. Uphold the school's code of conduct and contribute positively to the school community. Mentor and guide students in their academic and personal development. Prepare students for standardized examinations and university entrance requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. A Master's degree is an advantage. Valid teaching certification or license recognized in Nigeria. Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching mathematics at the high school level. Strong knowledge of advanced mathematical topics and pedagogy. Proven ability to engage students and foster a love for mathematics. Excellent classroom management skills. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning tools. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents. Demonstrated commitment to student achievement and well-being. Experience in preparing students for national and international examinations.
