ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Bible Society of Nigeria was founded on 8th February, 1966 through the pioneering efforts of the late Dr. Francis Ezeogo Akanu Ibiam, the first indigenous Governor of the defunct Eastern Region. Earlier in February, 1965 Dr. Ibiam had initiated a consultation with representatives of most of the Churches [Church organizations] in Nigeria on the need to form a national Bible Society in Nigeria.
JOB SUMMARY
Personnel SpecificationA higher national diploma or first degree in the humanities is a must. A master’s degree in business administration, personnel management, industrial and labour relations, or other related fields would be an advantage.5 years of work experience with at least 3 years of it in the human resource management field.Professionally certified by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, or CIPD, England, with good knowledge of Nigerian labour and employment laws and major criteria to occupy this position.The ability to be involved in strategic planning and implementation will be a great advantage.Proven Christian experience and integrity; High level of presentation skills; Willingness to learn and ability to work as a team player; Good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.Flexible, not easily provoked, sociable and always hungry for and delivering timely results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic HR management through sound acquisition, proper utilisation, result-oriented training/development, performance management, attractive/retentive motivational strategies and painless separation of staff, etc.Productive and timely administration of the organisation’s assets, preventing unnecessary downtimeAdminister strictly but with a human face the policies of the organisation and so on.
