Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs. Provide direct instruction and academic support tailored to the unique learning needs of students. Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning. Collaborate with parents, guardians, and families to foster strong home-school partnerships. Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and school psychologists to coordinate student support services. Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly. Manage student behavior effectively using positive reinforcement and appropriate strategies. Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies and assistive technologies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and progress reports. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student-centered decision-making. Stay current with best practices and research in special education. Advocate for the needs of students with special needs within the school community. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with primary-grade students with various disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, emotional/behavioral disorders). Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation processes. Knowledge of various instructional strategies and behavior management techniques. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to student success. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive devices. Experience with data collection and progress monitoring. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
