Job Description
Job Summary
• Our client is seeking a passionate and results-driven Petroleum/Chemical Engineer to join our technical operations team.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, evaluating, and implementing efficient oil and gas production, refining, and chemical processing solutions.
• You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, enhancing project performance, and supporting business growth through innovative engineering practices.
• Preferred candidates will be resident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State or willing to relocate as the role is at Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and optimize processes for oil and gas extraction, treatment, and refining.
• Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and technical evaluations for new and ongoing projects.
• Support drilling, reservoir, and production teams in identifying and resolving technical challenges.
• Monitor and analyze plant performance to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
• Develop and implement cost-effective chemical and process engineering solutions.
• Ensure all operations comply with relevant HSE standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, data analyses, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, instrumentation, and project management) to ensure seamless execution of projects.
• Participate in project design reviews, quality audits, and performance assessments.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and innovations in petroleum and chemical engineering.

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc/B.Eng) in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years experience in oil and gas operations, process engineering, or project support within an engineering or servicing company.
• Professional certification or membership (e.g., COREN, NSE) is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus, MATLAB) and field instrumentation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of drilling operations, production optimization, and refinery process design.
• Excellent understanding of safety standards, QA/QC procedures, and environmental compliance.
