Our client, a pioneering firm in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an accomplished Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead and oversee critical projects in a fully remote capacity. This role, conceptually anchored in Jos, Plateau, NG , allows for full-time remote work from anywhere within Nigeria. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of renewable energy projects, from feasibility studies and site assessment to development, construction, and commissioning, ensuring successful project delivery on time and within budget.
This position requires a robust understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, hydro), project finance, regulatory frameworks, and stakeholder management. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage external contractors, and liaise with government agencies and community stakeholders. Your leadership and expertise will be crucial in driving the expansion of sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations for potential projects. Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, and track progress against key milestones. Oversee the procurement process, including tendering for equipment and services, and managing contracts. Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution. Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as needed. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations. Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, government bodies, local communities, and technology providers. Prepare regular project reports for senior management and stakeholders. Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. Qualifications: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Project Management, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years specifically within the renewable energy sector. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale renewable energy projects from inception to completion. Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, project development processes, and financial modeling. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and financial analysis tools. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with regulatory approvals and permitting processes. Ability to work independently and lead remote teams effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. PMP certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
