Job Summary

Highly experienced Human Resources Officer with over 5 years of progressive experience in strategic HR management, talent acquisition, employee relations, and organizational development in Lagos, Nigeria. Holder of relevant professional certifications (CIPM, CIPD, PHRi) & demonstrating expertise in aligning HR practices.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:
• Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with corporate objectives, fostering a positive work culture.
• Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
• Employee Relations & Engagement: Manage succession planning, staff engagement, retention initiatives, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
• Payroll & Benefits Administration: Oversee payroll, benefits management, health insurance, pension contributions, and leave management.
• HR Policy Development: Develop policies on working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, and compliance with Nigerian labor laws.
• Training & Development: Plan and sometimes deliver training, including inductions for new staff, and analyze training needs with departments.
• Compliance & Legal: Interpret and advise on employment law, ensure adherence to HR regulations and organizational policies.
• Reporting & Insights: Prepare HR reports, budgets, and provide insights for management decisions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with departments, line managers, and external stakeholders.

Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (MBA is an added advantage).
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of HR/Admin experience, preferably in sectors like oil and gas or other industries in Lagos.
• Certifications: CIPM, CIPD, PHRi, or other relevant HR certifications.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of HR best practices, Nigerian legislation, HR management systems, excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Competencies: Ability to manage people, resolve conflicts, and drive strategic HR initiatives.
• Experience in the upstream oil and gas sector (advantageous for some roles).
• Proficiency in HR management systems and digital HR tools.
• Strong analytical skills for HR metrics and reporting.
