Job Description
Our client is actively searching for a high-achieving and strategic Regional Sales Director to lead and expand their sales operations across the region, based in Lokoja, Kogi, NG . This pivotal role requires a seasoned sales professional with a proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies, drive revenue growth, and build and manage a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the market dynamics, a strong network of industry contacts, and a passion for exceeding sales targets. Responsibilities include setting ambitious sales goals, developing regional sales plans, and overseeing the implementation of sales initiatives. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, and motivating a team of sales representatives, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to succeed. Performance management, including setting key performance indicators (KPIs), monitoring sales metrics, and providing regular feedback and coaching, will be a key focus. The Regional Sales Director will also play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and enhancing customer relationships. Market analysis, competitor tracking, and adapting sales strategies to changing market conditions will be ongoing responsibilities. This position involves significant travel within the region to meet clients, support sales teams, and attend industry events. You will report directly to senior leadership and be instrumental in shaping the company's growth trajectory. The ability to analyze sales data, forecast future sales, and present comprehensive reports to management is essential. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve corporate objectives and expand market share. Lead, coach, and motivate the regional sales team to meet or exceed sales targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Manage sales budgets and ensure profitable sales volume. Prepare and present regular sales performance reports to senior management. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training for sales staff. Oversee the management of key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction. Represent the company at industry events and conferences. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3 years in a sales leadership role. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Strong understanding of sales methodologies and market analysis. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to travel extensively within the assigned region. Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
