Senior Accountant (Retail Group)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements; manage month-

end and year-end close.

• Maintain general ledger, reconciliations, and cash-flow

management.

• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance

analysis.

• Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax regulations (VAT,

PAYE, corporate tax).

• Oversee stock controls, procurement processes, and

internal audit frameworks.

• Coordinate internal and external audits and manage risk

improvements.

• Supervise junior accounting staff and support

management with financial insights.

Requirements

Requirements

• Mandatory retail experience (supermarkets, pharmacies,

or similar).

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• ACA, ACCA, or ICAN certification.

• 5–7 years’ experience, including at least 2 years in a

senior role.

• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and accounting

standards.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
