Job Description
Job Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly management accounts, income statements, and balance sheet reviews.
• Conduct weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Manage treasury operations and cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity.
• Prepare monthly journals and perform general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
• Ensure timely posting of transactions and accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare and submit CBN regulatory monthly and annual returns.
• Handle PAYE and WHT remittances, filings, and related documentation.
• Liaise with tax consultants, regulatory authorities, and external auditors.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audit exercises.
• Conduct financial analysis to support management decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise finance team members.
• Raise internal memos and support process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory guidelines

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• ACA/ICAN or ACCA qualification or in view is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years’ cognate experience in financial control, accounting, or audit within a bank or microfinance institution.
• Sound knowledge of the CBN regulatory framework and microfinance bank operations.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and risk-awareness skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and core banking/accounting systems.
