Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join their fully remote finance department. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting principles and regulations. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing general ledger activities, performing account reconciliations, and supporting financial audits. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP), excellent analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. This position requires a proactive approach, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a virtual team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data through rigorous analysis and reconciliation. Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying variances and providing insights. Support budget preparation and forecasting activities. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function. Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting. Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) is highly desirable. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial accounting. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS or GAAP). Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote setting. Experience in (Specific Industry, e.g., Technology, Manufacturing) is a plus.
