Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to lead their financial reporting functions. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP), financial analysis, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, managing general ledger activities, and supporting financial audits. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP. Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time. Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring its accuracy and integrity. Perform detailed financial analysis, variance analysis, and reconciliations of accounts. Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and controls. Support budgeting and forecasting processes as required. Identify and recommend improvements to accounting systems and processes. Train and mentor junior accounting staff remotely. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders across the organization. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA) is required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong focus on financial reporting. In-depth knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly. Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote setting. Experience working in a remote accounting team is an advantage.
