Our client, a dynamic FMCG company with a strong presence in the Nigerian market, is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Area Sales Manager to lead their sales operations in the Abeokuta, Ogun, NG region. This on-site role is essential for driving sales volume, expanding market share, and building strong relationships with distributors and retailers. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies, managing a team of sales representatives, and achieving ambitious sales targets within their assigned territory. You will analyze market trends, identify new business opportunities, and ensure optimal product distribution. Key responsibilities include setting sales objectives, monitoring team performance, providing coaching and training, and managing budgets and expenses for the area. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the FMCG market, excellent leadership qualities, and a proven track record of success in sales management. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial for building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. Experience with sales forecasting, performance management, and distribution network management is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute area sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share goals. Manage, train, and motivate a team of sales representatives. Set sales targets for the area and individual representatives. Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and identify new business opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers. Ensure effective product placement and merchandising in retail outlets. Manage area sales budget and control expenses. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to the sales team. Report on sales activities, market conditions, and competitor activities. Ensure compliance with company policies and sales procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a sales management or supervisory role, preferably in FMCG. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth. Strong understanding of sales methodologies and market dynamics. Excellent leadership, team management, and coaching skills. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with sales forecasting and performance analysis.
