Key Responsibilities
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that supports early childhood development.
• Use creative and play-based teaching methods to support pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Encourage curiosity, confidence, and positive learning behaviors in young learners.
• Observe, assess, and record pupils’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
• Apply Assessment for Learning strategies appropriate for early years education.
• Select and use a variety of learning resources, including visual aids, manipulatives, and educational play materials.
• Support pupils with varying abilities and learning needs, including children with learning or developmental difficulties LDD.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and parents to promote pupils’ overall development.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and participate in school meetings and training sessions.
• Uphold school policies, safeguarding standards, and classroom management best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
• Degree in Education or Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in a preparatory or early years classroom.
• Strong understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching young learners.
• Resourceful and able to adapt instructional materials to meet individual learning needs.
• Excellent recordkeeping skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with parents, teachers, and school administrators.
