Job Summary
• The Senior Accountant will oversee core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain statutory compliance, and provide reliable financial insights to support business decision-making. The role also involves supervising junior finance staff and strengthening internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts IFRS compliant
• Ensure accurate GL postings and account reconciliations
• Maintain proper accounting records and schedules
Budgeting & Performance Monitoring
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Conduct variance analysis and performance reviews
• Provide cost control and revenue performance insights
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE
• Coordinate statutory filings and liaise with FIRS & State IRS
• Support external audits and resolve audit queries
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
• Implement and monitor internal controls
• Recommend process improvements
• Ensure adherence to company policies
Team Supervision & Systems
• Supervise and mentor junior accountants
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, HR, and other units
• Work with ERP systems SAP S4 HANA experience is a strong advantage
Requirements
Education & Certification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• ICAN ACA – Mandatory
• ACCA is an added advantage
Experience
• 4–6 years relevant accounting experience
• 2–3 years in a supervisory role
• Oil & Gas industry experience is an advantage
Technical Skills
• Strong IFRS and Nigerian tax knowledge
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Hands-on SAP S4HANA experience
• Strong financial analysis & reporting capability
