Job Description
Role Overview
• DTA is looking for a versatile and practical-minded Pre-Vocational Studies PVS Teacher.
• This role is central to our mission of equipping students with functional skills.
• You will be responsible for teaching the integrated curriculum of Home Economics and Agriculture, focusing on hands-on learning that prepares students for real-world vocational challenges.
• The ideal candidate isn't just a lecturer but a mentor who can transform theoretical concepts into tangible projects, from sustainable farming to culinary arts and household management.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery & Curriculum:
• Agricultural Science: Teach crop production, livestock management, and soil science. Manage the school’s small-scale garden or "green zone" for practical demonstrations.
• Home Economics: Facilitate lessons in nutrition, clothing and textiles, food preparation, and home management.
• Integrated Learning: Bridge the gap between PVS and other subjects like Basic Science and Robotics e.g., discussing automated irrigation or food chemistry.

Practical Project Management:
• Project Supervision: Guide students through their PVS termly projects, ensuring high-quality output for school exhibitions.
• Resource Management: Manage the PVS laboratory/kitchen and agricultural tools, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
• Field Work: Organize "Farm-to-Table" initiatives or local vocational excursions to give students industry exposure.

Assessment & Evaluation:
• Design and grade assessments that balance theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
• Provide constructive feedback on student projects to foster a growth mindset.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and vocational competencies.

Technical & Professional Requirements
• Academic Background: Degree in Agriculture, Home Economics, Vocational Education, or a related field.
• Hand-on Expertise: Proficiency in practical skills such as cooking, sewing, gardening, or basic carpentry/handicrafts.
• Instructional Skill: Ability to simplify complex vocational processes for different age groups.
• Soft Skills: High patience, creative problem-solving, and a passion for "learning by doing."
