Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Certified Early Childhood Educator to serve as a Lead Teacher in our vibrant childcare center located in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti, NG . This is a hands-on role where you will create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe learning environment for young children. You will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, fostering social-emotional development, and building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. Observe and assess children's progress, documenting their developmental milestones and communicating effectively with parents about their child's growth. Build positive and collaborative relationships with parents, providing regular updates and encouraging their involvement in their child's education. Manage classroom behavior positively, implementing effective discipline strategies when needed. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children under your care, adhering to all licensing regulations and center policies. Supervise and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides. Maintain accurate attendance records, meal counts, and other required documentation. Organize and participate in classroom activities, special events, and parent-teacher conferences. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum and program offerings. Commit to ongoing professional development and staying current with early childhood education best practices. Foster a positive and respectful team environment.
Qualifications:
A recognized certification or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator, preferably in a lead teacher role. In-depth knowledge of child development theories and age-appropriate learning methodologies. Passion for working with young children and commitment to their holistic development. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Patience, creativity, and a nurturing disposition. Knowledge of health, safety, and licensing regulations for childcare facilities. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. First Aid and CPR certification is required.
