Mechanical Maintenance Manager

Location: Ebedei, Delta State

Reports to: Head, Plant Engineering

Role Overview

The Mechanical Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all mechanical systems and equipment at the plant to ensure safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, and efficient operations. The role involves planning, scheduling, and supervising preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee maintenance of all mechanical systems and equipment.
• Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Conduct routine inspections of plant machinery and automated systems.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and supervise repairs.
• Diagnose faults and oversee time-critical repairs.
• Document maintenance activities through reports and logs.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies and procedures.
• Support installation, commissioning, and inspection of equipment, including CNG stations.
• Provide technical guidance to supervisors, foremen, fitters, and technicians.
• Monitor and control maintenance budgets and expenses.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Manage repair, installation activities, and spare parts inventory.

RequirementsExperience & Education
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in maintenance/projects within the oil & gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of gas compressors, gas engines, and gas processing equipment.
• Experience with blueprints and technical schematics.
• Experience in energy or CNG plant/station projects is an added advantage.
