Position Title: Trained Montessori Teacher (Elementary Level)
Reports To: Vice Principal Academics

Job Summary:
Discovery House Montessori School is seeking a
passionate and dedicated Trained Montessori Teacher for our elementary program.
The successful candidate will implement the Montessori philosophy and
methodology to guide and support students' academic, emotional, and social
development. This role requires a deep commitment to fostering a nurturing and
stimulating learning environment that respects each child's individuality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Classroom
Management:
• Create
and maintain an organized, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Develop
and implement lesson plans that align with Montessori principles and the
school's curriculum goals.
• Observe
and assess students' progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials
as needed.
• Instruction:
• Present
Montessori lessons to small groups or individual students, covering
subjects such as language, mathematics, science, and cultural subjects (History, Geography, visuals arts etc.)
• Foster
critical thinking, creativity, and problem -solving skills through
hands -on, experiential learning activities.
• Encourage
independence, responsibility, and respect among students.
• Student
Support:
• Provide individualized attention to students,
recognize and address their unique learning styles and needs.
• Support
students' social and emotional development by promoting positive
behavior, conflict resolution, and effective communication.
• Collaborate
with parents to support their child's development and address any
concern.
• Professional
Development:
• Stay
current with Montessori educational practices and developments through
continuous professional growth and training.
• Participate
in school meetings, events, and professional learning communities.
• Collaboration:
• Work
closely with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive educational
environment.
• Participate
in team planning sessions and contribute to the development of
school -wide initiatives and activities.
• Communicate
effectively with parents, providing regular updates on their child's
progress and development.
• Record
Keeping:
• Maintain
accurate and up -to -date student records, including assessments,
observations, and attendance.
• Prepare
progress reports and conduct parent -teacher conferences to discuss
student development and progress.
Qualifications:
• Montessori
certification from an accredited Montessori training program (AMS, AMI, or
equivalent) required.
• Bachelor's
degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
preferred.
• Minimum
of 2 years of experience teaching in a Montessori elementary classroom.
• Deep
understanding and commitment to Montessori philosophy and methodology.
• Strong
classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability
to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.
• Proficiency
in using educational technology and tools.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability
to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and engage with children at their level.
• Ability
to move around the classroom and school environment actively.
