Job Description
ACADEMICS



• University degree or Higher National Diploma HND in any physical or pure sciences discipline e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Physics etc..

• Master’s degree will be considered as added advantage.




WORK EXPERIENCE



• Minimum of 5 years in a core engineering discipline and 2 years of proven work experience in failure modes and effect analysis, failure investigations using RCAs, 5Ys and Causal learning investigation, Proactive Technical Monitoring, and continuous improvement




TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS ADDED ADVANTAGE



• Proficient in Data analysis using Excel, Power BI or related software tools Python etc.




Professional Certifications



• Trained Causal Learning Level 2 Facilitator will be added advantage.

• Valid/Active Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria COREN membership is an added advantage

• Data entry, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel proficiency




TECHNICAL/LEADERSHIP SKILLS


Purpose:
• Failure Analysis, Threat/Opportunity Management and Reliability improvement system implementation.

• Remote Monitoring, Diagnostics skills, data extraction and analysis from various sources including daily production reports, Energy Component and Plant Information.




Dimensions:
• Onshore and Offshore Production Assets

• Driving standard work processes and engaging with frontline leaders and supervisors for prioritization of threats, problem solving and executing agreed actions




Principal Accountabilities:
• Lead and support Root Cause Analysis RCA, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis FMEA, and Causal Learning sessions.

• Train and mentor staff on monitoring tools, Manage Threats and Opportunity MTO processes, RCA methodologies, and reliability best practices.

• Drive and implement reliability process and improvement projects.

• Utilize smart tools such as PI Vision to conduct real-time equipment health surveillance.

• Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize performance trends, anomalies, and reliability risks.

• Collaborate with reliability engineers and cross-functional teams to close out identified threats and unlock opportunities.

• Drive adoption of digital reliability tools e.g., RCA app, EnhanceX to strengthen organizational learning.

• Prepare technical reports and reliability insights for leadership review.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal reliability frameworks.

• Develop and implement Threat Management Plans TMP to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence of failures.




Soft skills required



• Strong attention to detail and an understanding of causes of underperformance in the Production unit

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Problem-solving abilities to address challenges in PU performance across flares, trips and deferments.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and present actionable insights.
