About the Role
South Atlantic LNG West Africa Limited (SLNG) is an indigenous Nigerian oil and gas company developing a 20MMscf LNG facility, commencing with Phase 1 (5MMscf). We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support construction, commissioning, and early operations within a lean, multi-disciplinary project team.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide mechanical engineering support for natural gas pipelines, gas processing units, and LNG facilities.
• Support and supervise mechanical construction works on site, working closely with EPC contractors.
• Review mechanical drawings, equipment datasheets, and vendor documentation.
• Participate actively in mechanical installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
• Support troubleshooting and maintenance activities during early plant operations.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, Nigerian regulations, and applicable international codes (ASME, API, ANSI).
• Participate in inspections, punch listing, and system handover.
Key Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• COREN registration or eligibility is required.
• Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in oil and gas projects.
• Practical experience in natural gas construction projects, including pipelines and/or gas processing facilities (LNG exposure is an advantage).
• Strong site-based construction and commissioning experience.
• Good working knowledge of rotating and static equipment.
• Ability to work independently in a lean team environment.
