Our client is a fast-paced, innovative organization seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of Project Management to lead their project management office (PMO) entirely remotely. This is a senior leadership position responsible for establishing and overseeing project management methodologies, processes, and standards across the organization. You will guide a team of project managers, ensuring the successful execution of critical initiatives from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of various project management frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid), and a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. This role demands strategic thinking, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to foster a high-performance project management culture within a remote setting.

Responsibilities: Establish, implement, and maintain organizational project management standards, policies, and processes. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance. Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of all major organizational projects. Develop and manage the organization's project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Implement and refine project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall) to suit organizational needs. Establish and monitor key project performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports to senior leadership. Manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively, ensuring timely resolution. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication among project teams and stakeholders. Oversee resource allocation and capacity planning for project teams. Champion best practices in project management and drive continuous improvement within the PMO. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and manage the PMO budget. Conduct post-project reviews and identify lessons learned for future initiatives. Ensure the effective use of project management tools and technologies. Qualifications: Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications are mandatory. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing a PMO or a team of project managers. Proven experience in successfully delivering complex, cross-functional projects in a remote or distributed environment. Extensive knowledge of various project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project). Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams. Experience in developing and implementing project management frameworks and best practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Excellent financial acumen and budget management skills.
