Job Title: Partner – Banking & Finance
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Client: Elite Tier-1 Nigerian Law Firm
The Opportunity
We have been exclusively retained by one of Nigeria’s most prestigious "Silver Circle" law firms to identify a high-calibre Banking & Finance Partner to join their Lagos headquarters. Known for handling the country’s most complex, high-value cross-border transactions, the firm is looking for a strategic leader to enhance their market-leading practice.
The Role
As a Partner, you will spearhead a sophisticated portfolio of work, advising domestic and international financial institutions, DFIs, and corporate borrowers. You will be responsible for:
• Leading complex transactions involving Project Finance, Syndicated Lending, Asset Finance, and Debt Restructuring.
• Providing high-level regulatory advice within the Nigerian financial services framework.
• Driving business development initiatives to expand the firm’s footprint across West Africa.
• Mentoring and developing a high-performing team of Associates and Senior Associates.
Candidate Profile
• Experience: 12+ years of Post-Call experience, with a significant portion spent within a top-tier Nigerian or international law firm.
• Technical Excellence: A proven track record of lead-counsel roles in multi-million dollar financing deals.
• Portable Portable/Network: While a full "book of business" is not strictly mandatory, a strong professional reputation and the ability to generate/convert leads is essential.
• Qualifications: LL.B (and BL) required; an LL.M from a leading international university is highly preferred.
Why Join This Firm?
Our client offers an unparalleled platform for a Partner seeking to work on "headline-making" deals. You will benefit from a highly collegiate culture, a robust support structure, and a compensation package that is among the most competitive in the West African legal market.
