Job Description
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Ensure accurate bookkeeping in line with IFRS and CBN guidelines

• Monitor general ledger entries and account reconciliations

• Assist in preparing management reports for decision-making

• Support the development of annual budgets and forecasts

• Track actual performance vs. budget and analyze variances

• Provide insights on cost control and revenue optimization

• Ensure compliance with policies set by the Central Bank of Nigeria

• Prepare and submit statutory returns e.g., prudential reports

• Ensure proper documentation for audits and regulatory reviews

• Assist in designing and enforcing internal control systems

• Monitor financial risks, fraud prevention, and compliance breaches

• Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures

• Monitor liquidity positions and daily cash flow

• Oversee bank reconciliations and fund transfers

• Ensure optimal utilization of financial resources

• Support internal and external audit processes

• Respond to audit queries and implement recommendations

• Ensure audit readiness at all times

• Assist the Financial Controller in departmental leadership



Requirements



• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Professional certification e.g., Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is highly preferred

• 4–7 years of experience in finance/accounting

• Prior experience in a microfinance bank or financial institution is a strong advantage

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and regulatory standards

• Analytical and problem-solving skills

• Attention to detail and high level of integrity
