JOB DESCRIPTION:
• In critical care check vital signs as instructed by the Doctor.
• Detailed report of every duty shift.
• Competent in clinical evaluation and management of emergency, medical and surgical patients.
• Administer medications to patients, monitor them for potential reactions or side effects, and report them to the physician and follow medication administration and storage procedures and regulations.
• Assisting Surgeons during operations and emergencies
• Creating and maintaining accurate, comprehensive healthcare records and reports of patients
• Training and supervising Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with healthcare procedures and regulations and adhere to infection-control protocols.
• Check and maintain nursing supplies inventory.
• Educating patients on home care needs, parenting and family planning.
• Performing routine gynaecological care, including exams.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and referring patients to specialists when necessary.
• Providing emotional support for expectant and new mothers.
• Providing antenatal and postpartum care for pregnant women and identifying any risks to the mother or infant.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have current Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Midwifery (RM) licences.
• 1-2 years experience work experience post NYSC.
• Familiarity with HMO services and medical documentation using electronic medical records.
SKILLS:
• Basic computer skills, with proficiency in the use of Microsoft word.
• Interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships with patients.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to help patients understand their options and potential implications.
• Collaborative skills to work with other medical care providers.
