About the World Literacy Foundation

The World Literacy Foundation (WLF) is a global nonprofit organisation committed to ensuring every child, regardless of geography or circumstance, has the opportunity to acquire literacy skills. Every two years, WLF hosts the World Literacy Summit at the University of Oxford—bringing together global leaders, educators, researchers, philanthropists, and advocates to advance the cause of literacy worldwide.

The next Summit will be held April 1–3, 2027, and will attract thousands of delegates from more than 80 countries.

Role Purpose

The Marketing Managerwill lead and execute all marketing activities for the World Literacy Summit 2027, ensuring strong global visibility, delegate recruitment, partner engagement, and brand consistency. This role is ideal for a dynamic marketer with experience promoting large conferences or major events, and who thrives in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing Strategy & Planning
• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for the World Literacy Summit 2027.
• Identify key audiences, channels, and messaging to maximise global reach and delegate registrations.
• Coordinate timelines, milestones, and campaign calendars in alignment with the Conference Manager.

2. Campaign Execution
• Lead multi‑channel marketing campaigns including email, digital advertising, partnerships, and content marketing.
• Work closely with the Social Media Manager to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
• Oversee production of promotional materials, brochures, videos, and digital assets with the Graphic Designer.

3. Website & Content Management
• Manage updates to the Summit website, ensuring accurate, engaging, and timely content.
• Draft compelling copy for newsletters, announcements, speaker spotlights, and partner communications.
• Support the PR Manager with media releases and press engagement.

4. Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
• Coordinate marketing deliverables with sponsors, partners, and international literacy organisations.
• Support outreach to universities, NGOs, government agencies, and education networks to drive participation.
• Assist in managing VIP communications, including keynote speakers and high‑profile delegates.

5. Data, Reporting & Analytics
• Track campaign performance, website traffic, and delegate registration trends.
• Provide regular reports and insights to the CEO and Conference Manager.
• Recommend adjustments to optimise reach, engagement, and conversion.

6. Event Support
• Contribute to pre‑event logistics, including delegate communications and promotional activities.
• Provide remote support during the Summit (April 2027), coordinating with the Oxford‑based event team.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in marketing roles, preferably for large conferences, expos, or major events.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns.
• Strong writing and content‑creation skills.
• Experience working with designers, social media teams, and PR professionals.
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools (email platforms, analytics, CMS, social scheduling tools).
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work full‑time from the Lagos office.

Desirable
• Experience in the nonprofit, education, or international development sectors.
• Familiarity with global audiences and cross‑cultural communication.
• Understanding of literacy, education, or social‑impact messaging.
