Job Summary
A Retail Banking Specialist provides customer-focused financial services, including account management, product sales, and basic financial advice. The role combines customer service, sales, and financial advisory responsibilities to help customers manage their finances and choose appropriate banking products.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service
• Assist customers with opening and closing accounts (savings, current, fixed deposits)
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests
• Educate customers on banking products and digital banking services
• Maintain strong customer relationships
Sales and Cross-Selling
• Promote bank products such as loans, credit cards, savings accounts, and investment products
• Identify customer needs and recommend suitable banking products
• Meet sales targets and performance goals
• Generate new business opportunities
Account Management
• Maintain and update customer account information
• Ensure proper documentation for account opening and transactions
• Monitor accounts for unusual or suspicious transactions
Financial Advisory
• Provide basic financial advice on savings, budgeting, and investments
• Help customers choose products that meet their financial goals
Compliance and Risk Management
• Follow banking regulations, policies, and procedures
• Perform KYC (Know Your Customer) verification
• Ensure confidentiality and security of customer information
• Assist in fraud prevention and risk control
