Job Description
About Carogas
Carogas is building Nigeria's first structured, quality-controlled barite supply chain for the upstream oil and gas. We are hiring a Field Supervisor to anchor our on-ground operations across our gathering hub in Plateau State.
The Role
You will be our primary representative on the ground, receiving barite ore from artisanal miners, running XRF quality tests, managing stockpiles, coordinating truck loading and dispatch, and enforcing Carogas's intake and payment standards. This is a hands-on field role. You will spend most of your time at hub sites and mine locations.
What You Will Be Doing
• Receiving and registering barite deliveries from artisanal miners and mine owners
• Operating portable XRF devices to test and grade incoming ore
• Managing stockpile segregation and inventory records at each hub
• Sorting accepted ore by quality tier, overseeing washing where required, and supervising bagging and weighing of material into bags
• Supervising loading of bags onto haulage trucks and ensuring documentation is complete
• Building relationships with miners across the zone
• Enforcing payment controls, conducting daily reconciliations, and submitting field reports
• Maintaining hub security, access control, and HSE standards
What We Are Looking For
• Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Mineral Processing, or a related field
• 5–7 years of field experience in solid minerals or mining operations in Nigeria
• Ability to speak Hausa is a strong advantage for effective communication with miners and local communities across the hub zones
• Real, hands-on experience working with artisanal and small-scale miners. You must understand how they operate and how to earn their trust
• Practical knowledge of barite or other industrial minerals
• Strong logistics instincts, comfortable coordinating loading, transport, and documentation
• Integrity, operational discipline, and the ability to work independently in the field
• XRF experience is a plus; existing miner relationships in Plateau is a strong advantage
Why Join Carogas
This is a ground-floor opportunity to play a central role in building something new in Nigerian solid minerals. You will have real responsibility, direct field ownership, and room to grow as the operation scales toward full beneficiation and export.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
