Job Title: Area Manager(Microfinance Bank Experience)

Location: Ogun Region

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: The Area Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple branches within Ogun Region. The role is responsible for driving business growth, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining portfolio quality, and delivering superior customer service standards across assigned branches. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership capacity, sound credit risk management expertise, and a proven track record in branch performance management.
Key Responsibilities

. Provide strategic direction and supervision to Branch Managers within the assigned region.

. Drive achievement of regional business targets including deposits, loans, revenue, and profitability.

. Monitor and manage portfolio performance to ensure adherence to risk management standards and maintain portfolio quality.

. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.

. Oversee credit appraisal and approval processes within delegated authority limits.

. Maintain and enforce a minimum Portfolio at Risk (PAR) level of 5% across all branches under supervision.

. Conduct periodic branch performance reviews and implement corrective action plans where necessary.

. Lead business development initiatives to expand market share within the Ogun Region.

. Coach, mentor, and develop Branch Managers and key staff to enhance productivity and leadership capability.

. Prepare and present periodic performance reports to Executive Management.

. Drive customer acquisition, retention, and relationship management strategies.

. Ensure strong internal controls, audit compliance, and operational efficiency across branches.

Qualifications & Experience:

. BSc or Hnd in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline (Master’s degree is an added advantage).

. Minimum of 4-6 years’ banking experience.

. Experience in a Commercial Bank or Microfinance Bank will be an added advantage.

. Minimum Portfolio at Risk (PAR) level of 5%.

. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding business targets.

. Strong credit risk assessment and portfolio management expertise.

. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

. High level of integrity and sound decision-making ability.
