Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for an AI Engineer - Banking and Payment at Waya Bank, located in Lekki with flexibility for occasional remote work. The AI Engineer will focus on designing and deploying machine learning models, developing artificial intelligence solutions, and creating systems that enhance payment and banking processes.
Responsibilities include leveraging AI techniques for pattern recognition, implementing neural networks, working on natural language processing (NLP) applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop efficient software solutions within the banking and fintech domain.

Qualifications
• Strong expertise in Pattern Recognition, Neural Networks, and experience building AI models for various applications
• Academic foundation in Computer Science and Mathematical Modeling with practical experience applying concepts in real-world scenarios
• Proficiency in Software Development, including design, testing, debugging, and handling large data processing pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and their application to banking and payment systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in developing scalable and robust AI solutions
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; industry certifications or ongoing learning is a bonus
• Experience in fintech, banking, or payments industries is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
