Role Description • The petroleum trader will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and securing qualified buyers or off-takers with demand for our petroleum products (diesel, jet fuel and Premium Motor Spirit).
• Monitor global commodity markets, benchmark prices (Brent, ICE, Platts), and geopolitical developments to identify profitable trading opportunities.
• Manage open positions, cargo logistics, and voyage scheduling in coordination with operations and logistics teams.
• Negotiate and execute term contracts and spot transactions with producers, refiners, national oil companies, and trading houses.
• Optimize the company's trading book by balancing price exposure, volume risk, and counterparty credit risk.
Qualifications • Ability to analyze global oil and gas market trends and execute strategic trades
• Proficiency in negotiation, relationship management, and maintaining supplier and buyer networks
• Experience in logistics and supply chain management in the petroleum or energy sector
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and international trade practices related to the oil and gas industry
• Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work independently and remotely with a results-oriented mindset
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Energy Management, Economics, or a related field
• Experience in upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas trading is highly advantageous
