Job Description
A newly established hospital located in Ilaje, Ajah is seeking to recruit suitably qualified candidates for the position of an Accountant. The candidate must have sufficient capacity, experience, and relevant track record to deliver tangible and measurable results.

Position: Head & Junior accountants

Responsibilities

Ø Establish and document comprehensive guidelines & processes for all business / financial transactions;

Ø Prepare and maintain Financial statements, especially Statement of financial performance, Statement of Financial position and cash flow statements;

Ø Establish an internal control system that would help to prevent theft, mistakes and material errors;

Ø Oversee the Bookkeeping and Accounting functions of the Hospital;

Ø Develop and maintain a Fixed Asset Register;

Ø Maintain account reconciliation with customers / patients and expense/budget comparative analytics;

Ø Payroll management and general ledger reconciliation of balance sheet items, profit and loss statement, and other reports;

Ø Ensure compliance of all State and Federal Tax payments including: PAYE, VAT, CIT AND WHT;

Ø Monthly reconciliation of bank records and the hospitals records;

Ø Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;

Ø Maintain an Audit trail for all transactions;

Ø Ensure that the financial policy framework is maintained to guide management’s decision-making, particularly in the areas of asset and liability management.

Requirements

Ø Minimum of first degree in Accounting (B.Sc.) or related field.

Ø Minimum of 5 years post-graduation work experience in a relevant field.

Ø Strong accounting and financial reporting skills;

Ø Good writing, oral and presentation skills;

Ø Strategic thinking/ Business acumen;

Ø Financial literacy and Strong analytical skills;

Ø Professional qualification is an added advantage for the Head accountant (ICAN, ACCA)
