Job Description
Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Abuja (Hybrid)
Experience: 5–8 Years
Role Overview
Sigel Advisory Partners is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives within our Trade Facilitation practice. The ideal candidate will combine deep knowledge of cross-border trade, customs, and logistics with a strong ability to originate and close advisory mandates across key industrial and commercial sectors — with a primary concentration on oil and gas, and active coverage across OEMs, manufacturing, heavy equipment, and electric vehicles (EVs).
Key Responsibilities
• Drive business development across trade facilitation, import/export structuring, and customs advisory services, targeting clients across oil and gas, OEMs, manufacturing, heavy equipment, and EV sectors.
• Identify, pursue, and convert new client opportunities by leveraging industry relationships with operators, manufacturers, equipment suppliers, customs authorities, port operators, and trade-related government institutions.
• Develop compelling trade facilitation value propositions, proposals, and pitch materials tailored to the operational and commercial realities of each target sector — from energy supply chains to industrial machinery and emerging EV ecosystems.
• Build and manage a strong multi-sector pipeline of prospects, with oil and gas as the anchor segment, progressing engagements from origination through to mandate execution.
• Collaborate with internal advisory teams to deliver integrated trade facilitation solutions — including customs optimization, import/export structuring, and regulatory compliance — suited to the specific needs of each sector.
• Represent the firm at industry events, trade forums, and stakeholder engagements across oil and gas, manufacturing, heavy equipment, and EV platforms to expand market presence and visibility.
• Provide market intelligence on trade policy shifts, sector-specific regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics across all target industries to inform service positioning and go-to-market strategy.
Requirements
• 5–8 years' experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles within trade facilitation, international trade, logistics, or related advisory services.
• Proven track record of originating and growing client relationships in one or more of the following sectors: oil and gas, OEMs, manufacturing, heavy equipment, or electric vehicles.
• Strong understanding of cross-border trade frameworks, customs processes, and global logistics — including their application across industrial goods, energy products, machinery, and emerging technology supply chains.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to operate credibly across diverse industries and client profiles.
• Self-starter with the drive to build and own a commercial pipeline independently across multiple sectors, with oil and gas as a core concentration.
