Job Description
Company Description
Sellyt is an AI-powered social commerce platform built for Nigerian online vendors who sell through WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook DMs. We help sellers close sales faster, follow up consistently, and manage their entire sales workflow from one place. Our platform brings together an AI Smart Chat Assistant, omni-channel integration, lead scoring, invoicing, a mini storefront, and analytics into a single tool designed for vendors who are ready to stop relying on spreadsheets and start running a real business.
Sellyt operates under Gothrive Technologies and is currently in beta with real users providing feedback. We are self-funded, accepted into the NVIDIA Inception Program, and growing fast.
This is an early-stage opportunity to shape the voice, brand, and growth engine of a product built to serve millions of vendors across Africa.
The Role
We are looking for a Marketing & Content Creator who can own Sellyt's entire marketing presence across social media, paid ads, and content creation. This is not a support role. You will be the person responsible for building and executing the marketing strategy that drives awareness, waitlist signups, and user acquisition for Sellyt.
You should be someone who understands the Nigerian digital landscape, knows how to create content that resonates with online vendors and small business owners, and can move fast without waiting to be told what to do. You will work directly with the founding team and have a real impact on the company's growth trajectory.
What You Will Do
• Own and manage Sellyt's social media presence across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X,
LinkedIn and Facebook, including content planning, scheduling, posting, and community engagement.
• Create compelling, scroll-stopping content (graphics, carousels, short-form videos, reels,
stories) that speaks directly to Nigerian online vendors and small business owners.• Plan, execute, and optimize paid ad campaigns across Meta (Facebook and Instagram),
TikTok, Google, and Twitter/X to drive waitlist signups, app downloads, and user acquisition.
• Edit and produce short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube
Shorts, including founder-led series, product demos, customer testimonials, and educational content.
• Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with product launches, feature releases, seasonal campaigns, and brand storytelling goals.
• Write copy for social posts, ad creatives, landing pages, email campaigns, blog posts,
and any other marketing touchpoints.
• Track, analyze, and report on marketing performance metrics (reach, engagement,
conversion rates, cost per acquisition, ROI) and use data to continuously improve campaigns.
• Collaborate with the product and design teams to create marketing assets that accurately represent Sellyt's features and user experience.
• Identify and engage with online vendor communities, seller groups, and micro-
influencers to build organic brand awareness and trust.
• Stay on top of social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms relevant to Sellyt's target audience.
What You Bring
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation, ideally for a tech product, startup, or brand targeting Nigerian consumers.
• Proven experience running and optimizing paid ad campaigns on Meta Business Suite,
TikTok Ads, and/or Google Ads with real budget accountability.
• Strong video editing skills using tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci
Resolve, or similar. You should be comfortable shooting, editing, and publishing video content independently.
• Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite for creating carousels, stories, ad creatives, and branded content.
• Excellent copywriting skills with a strong understanding of tone, voice, and messaging that connects with everyday Nigerian business owners (not corporate jargon).
• A clear understanding of the Nigerian online vendor ecosystem, including how people sell on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment where priorities shift and you are expected to figure things out, not just follow instructions.
• Strong analytical mindset. You should know how to read campaign dashboards, interpret engagement data, and make smart decisions based on what the numbers are telling you.
• A portfolio or links to previous work showing social media accounts you have managed,
campaigns you have run, or content you have created.
