Role Overview

We are looking for a
growth-focused Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
to lead Padisquare’s go-to-market and revenue strategy.
This is not a “brand-only” role.

You will be responsible for:

• Taking Padisquare to market

• Driving user acquisition (buyers + sellers)

• Building a scalable growth engine

• Leading and growing a marketing team

• Turning traction into
real revenue

Compensation

• Founding-level
equity-based role

• No salary initially

• Salary begins immediately once revenue is generated

• Clear, transparent equity and milestone structure

What You’ll Own (Core Responsibilities)
1. Go-To-Market Execution

• Launch and scale Padisquare successfully

• Define positioning:
Why Padisquare vs marketplaces like Jumia or social platforms

• Identify and dominate early user segments (side hustlers, vendors, creators)

2. Growth & Revenue

• Drive
user acquisition, activation, and retention

• Build conversion funnels that turn users into paying customers

• Experiment with growth loops, referrals, and viral mechanics

• Own revenue-driven marketing (not vanity metrics)

3. Marketing Channels

• Social media growth and storytelling

• Email and lifecycle marketing

• Content strategy (short-form, community-led, creator-driven)

• Performance marketing (ads, CAC optimization)

• Partnerships and influencer collaborations

4. Team Building

• Recruit and manage digital marketing interns and early hires

• Build a lean, high-output marketing team

• Create systems, processes, and execution frameworks

5. Data & Optimization

• Track key metrics (CAC, LTV, activation rates, retention)

• Continuously test, iterate, and improve performance

• Make data-backed growth decisions

What We’re Looking For

• Proven ability to
drive growth or launch products successfully

• Strong understanding of marketplaces, social platforms, or user-driven products

• Experience with performance marketing + organic growth

• Ability to think strategically AND execute hands-on

• Experience building or leading teams

• Deep understanding of user psychology and conversion

• High ownership and accountability

Strong Advantage If You

• Have scaled a startup from
0 → traction

• Understand African/Nigerian market dynamics

• Have worked on marketplace, SaaS, or creator platforms

• Know how to build community-led growth systems
