Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Deputy Project Manager role based in Lagos.
The Deputy Project
Manager will oversee and support the planning, implementation, and management of project activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities include expediting project deliverables, coordinating logistics, inspecting processes, and ensuring assigned tasks align with project objectives. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and effective communication with stakeholders.
Job Description:
§ Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and execution strategies aligned with project objectives.
§ Define project scope, WBS, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria.
§ Establish baseline schedules and budgets and manage deviations through corrective actions.
§ Implement effective project control systems (earned value, cost control, forecasting).
§ Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely and accurate design delivery.
§ Review and approve engineering deliverables for technical integrity, constructability, and compliance with codes and standards.
§ Champion a
strong safety culture
and enforce zero‑harm policies.
§ Ensure compliance with project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and statutory regulations.
§ Manage design changes and ensure proper change control and documentation
§ Lead construction activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution.
§ Monitor productivity, progress, and compliance with construction schedules.
Ensure adherence to HSE plans and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering
(Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related)
10+ years
of project delivery experience, including
5+ years
in an EPC Project Manager role
Proven track record of managing large‑scale EPC projects from concept to commissioning.
Experience with EPC / LSTK / FIDIC contracts is an advantage
Skills and Competencies
• Strong project management and leadership skills
• Good knowledge of engineering, construction, and procurement processes
• Proficiency in project planning and reporting tools (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project)
• Commercial awareness and contract management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and results
