Role Overview The Managing Director, Investment Banking will provide strategic leadership and drive the growth of the firm’s investment banking business. The role is responsible for originating and executing complex transactions, deepening client relationships, and positioning the firm as a trusted advisor in mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, and structured finance.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and execute the strategic direction of the Investment Banking division in line with overall corporate objectives.
• Lead revenue growth through deal origination, client acquisition, and expansion into priority sectors.
• Originate and drive execution of transactions across M&A, capital raising (debt and equity), and structured finance.
• Oversee the full transaction lifecycle from origination and structuring to negotiation and closing.
• Provide strategic financial advisory to clients on investment decisions, restructuring, and growth opportunities.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with corporates, institutional investors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
• Identify emerging opportunities and develop innovative financial solutions tailored to client needs.
• Lead negotiations and structure complex transactions to achieve optimal outcomes for clients and the firm.
• Ensure high-quality financial modelling, valuation analysis, and transaction documentation.
• Provide leadership to the investment banking team, including performance management, mentorship, and succession planning.
• Deliver on revenue, profitability, and performance targets.
• Ensure robust risk management and adherence to regulatory and governance standards.
• Represent the firm at client engagements, industry events, and strategic forums.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field, with at least 7–10 years in a senior leadership role.
• Demonstrated track record in originating and executing large, complex financial transactions.
• Strong expertise in financial modelling, valuation, capital markets, and deal structuring.
• Deep understanding of local and global financial markets and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong commercial acumen with a strategic, results-driven mindset.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
