Salary Range: ₦800,000 – ₦900,000 (Monthly Gross)

License Requirement: Valid RN/RM License (Current and in Good Standing)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Nursing Manager to oversee and coordinate nursing operations across all clinical units within a high-capacity hospital.

The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical expertise with proven operational leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of managing large nursing teams, improving service delivery standards, and ensuring compliance with clinical governance and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical & Patient Care Leadership

• Provide leadership in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care across all units
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and quality guidelines
• Support multidisciplinary collaboration with physicians and allied health professionals
• Promote a culture of excellence in patient experience and service delivery

2. Nursing Operations & Workforce Management

• Oversee day-to-day nursing operations across multiple clinical departments
• Supervise and coordinate a large nursing workforce, including unit heads and frontline staff
• Develop and manage duty rosters, shift schedules, and workforce planning
• Ensure optimal staffing levels to support efficient service delivery
• Monitor utilisation of nursing resources and drive operational efficiency

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Implement and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and clinical protocols
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards and regulatory requirements
• Support quality improvement initiatives and continuous clinical audits
• Track performance indicators and implement corrective actions where required

4. Training, Mentorship & Capacity Development

• Coordinate onboarding and continuous professional development programmes
• Mentor nurse supervisors and support leadership development within the team
• Promote adherence to evidence-based clinical practices
• Identify skills gaps and drive targeted training initiatives

5. Administrative & Operational Oversight

• Support departmental budgeting, cost control, and resource planning
• Prepare and submit operational reports on staffing, performance, and service delivery
• Ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of nursing resources
• Escalate operational issues and recommend practical solutions to management

6. Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a key liaison between nursing teams and executive management
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless patient care delivery
• Support hospital-wide initiatives, accreditation processes, and quality improvement programmes

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing)
• Valid RN/RM License
• Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Management, or related field (preferred)
• Relevant certifications in healthcare leadership or hospital administration (added advantage)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 10–15 years post-qualification nursing experience
• At least 7–10 years in a managerial or supervisory role within a hospital setting
• Proven experience managing nursing teams and coordinating clinical operations
• Experience in structured or high-volume healthcare environments is strongly preferred
