Salary: ₦600,000 Monthly

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Senior Accountant – Payables to take full ownership of the Accounts Payable (AP) function. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the payables cycle while supporting financial reporting and driving process improvements within a fast-growing organization.
Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the Accounts Payable (AP) cycle, from invoice review to payment processing and reconciliations

• Perform 3-way matching (Purchase Order, Goods Received Note, Invoice) before processing payments

• Review and validate supplier invoices, ensuring proper authorization and supporting documentation

• Prepare and maintain supplier reconciliations and an accurate vendor register

• Manage and reconcile key supplier accounts, including handling rebates where applicable

• Ensure payments are processed in line with agreed credit terms and company policies

• Monitor and review open Purchase Orders, ensuring timely closure in collaboration with Operations

• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies related to invoices, GRNs, or documentation

• Maintain proper documentation and share payment confirmations with relevant stakeholders

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations

• Support month-end close activities related to payables

• Provide analysis and insights on payables to support management decision-making

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, with strong focus on Accounts Payable

• Solid understanding of Nigerian tax regulations (WHT, VAT)

• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and strong Excel skills

• Experience with stock/inventory control is an added advantage

• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
