Role Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, aligning people strategy with business objectives in a high-growth, regulated fintech environment.
The role will focus on workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and HR analytics while ensuring full compliance with labour laws and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
• Partner with business leaders to translate business goals into effective people strategies
• Provide data-driven HR insights to support workforce planning, productivity, and cost optimization
• Support organizational design, change management, and scaling initiatives
Workforce Planning & Talent Management
• Lead workforce planning aligned with business growth, operational demand, and revenue targets
• Partner with Recruitment to ensure timely hiring, talent pipeline development, and succession planning
• Identify and develop high-potential employees and support leadership development initiatives
Performance Management & Rewards
• Drive performance management processes including goal setting, appraisals, and performance improvement plans (PIPs)
• Cascade KPIs aligned with business units including sales, risk, operations, and support functions
• Support compensation reviews, promotions, and reward structures to drive performance and retention
Employee Relations & Engagement
• Serve as first point of contact for employee relations matters, grievances, and disciplinary cases
• Promote a strong performance-driven and positive workplace culture
• Lead engagement initiatives, pulse surveys, and action planning
Learning & Development
• Identify skill gaps and support learning interventions across departments
• Drive onboarding and induction programs to improve new hire productivity
• Promote continuous learning aligned with business priorities
HR Operations & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and regulatory requirements in financial services
• Support HR operations including contracts, employee lifecycle management, and audits
• Partner with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams on workforce-related risks
HR Analytics & Reporting
• Track key HR metrics including headcount, attrition, time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and performance distribution
• Provide insights and recommendations based on workforce data
• Support HR dashboards and leadership reporting.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 5–8 years of progressive HR experience
• Minimum 2–3 years in an HR Business Partner or strategic HR role
• Experience in fintech, financial services, lending, or regulated industries strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices
• Strong stakeholder management and data-driven decision-making skills
