Job Title: Accountant
Location: Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Budget: USD 2,000 - USD 3,000 per month
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support the company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, monitoring transactions, and assisting management with financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting documents.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure proper financial controls are in place.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare and file statutory remittances, including PAYE, VAT, WHT, and pension contributions.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and inventory records where applicable.
• Support external auditors during audit exercises.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve business performance.
• Manage payroll processing and related reconciliations.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree (B.Com / B.Sc. / HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Master's Degree (M.Com or MBA in Finance) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or related ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
