Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Internal Auditor/Accountant role based in Ajah, Lagos. The role involves planning and conducting internal financial and operational audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and compliance with policies and regulations.
The Internal
Auditor/Accountant will review financial records, reconcile accounts, verify transactions, and prepare accurate audit reports and financial summaries for management.
Responsibilities include identifying control gaps, recommending process improvements, and following up on the implementation of corrective actions. The role also involves supporting budgeting processes, assisting with external audit requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and sound accounting practices.
Qualifications
• Strong audit capabilities, including experience preparing and reviewing audit reports and conducting financial audits.
• Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and evaluate risks.
• Solid foundation in finance and accounting principles, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Effective communication skills for presenting findings, writing clear reports, and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) are an advantage.
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel; familiarity with internal control frameworks and audit methodologies.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines on-site in Lagos.
