Accountant, Financial Analyst and Business Strategy Associate Location: Uyo, Akwa Ibom State

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Salary: ₦300,000 - ₦350,000 monthly

About the Role We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Accountant, Financial Analyst and Business Strategy Associate to support financial reporting, business analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate must be a qualified accountant with strong financial analysis capability, practical QuickBooks Online experience, and the ability to translate financial data into clear business insights. This role requires more than routine accounting. It requires a professional who can support management with financial intelligence, performance tracking, cost control, operational analysis, and strategy execution.

The successful candidate will work closely with management to maintain sound financial records, improve reporting discipline, analyse business performance, support planning cycles, and provide practical recommendations that improve efficiency, profitability, and decision quality.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting and Reporting
• Prepare accurate financial statements, management accounts, and periodic financial reports.
• Maintain complete and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online.
• Manage reconciliations across bank accounts, payables, receivables, expense accounts, and other ledgers.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure proper documentation, filing, and audit readiness for all financial transactions.
• Monitor compliance with tax obligations, statutory requirements, regulatory standards, and applicable accounting principles.
• Assist with internal and external audit processes, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial performance reports.
• Conduct variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and approved expenditure plans.
• Track revenue, expenditure, margins, working capital, and cash flow performance.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, financial risks, and areas of operational inefficiency.
• Provide actionable financial insights to support management decisions.
• Prepare financial models and scenario analysis where required.
• Monitor budget utilisation and flag material deviations early.
Business Analysis and Strategy Support
• Analyse business processes, operating costs, revenue streams, and performance drivers.
• Support management in translating business objectives into measurable financial and operational targets.
• Prepare business cases, investment analyses, and cost-benefit assessments for new initiatives.
• Support strategic planning, performance reviews, and management reporting.
• Develop dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools to improve visibility across the business.
• Work with internal teams to identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements.
• Support the implementation of financial controls, business policies, and performance monitoring frameworks.
Process Improvement and Controls
• Review existing finance and reporting processes and recommend improvements.
• Strengthen internal controls around payments, approvals, reconciliations, procurement, and documentation.
• Support the development of standard operating procedures for finance and business reporting.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial information for management use.
• Help improve the quality, speed, and usefulness of financial and business reports.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• ICAN certification is mandatory.
• 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, business analysis, or strategy support.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and reporting templates.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Practical knowledge of Nigerian tax, statutory compliance, and accounting standards.
• Experience supporting business planning, performance tracking, or management decision-making will be an added advantage.
