The Opportunity
• We are seeking a dynamic and highly connected Business Development Manager to drive growth within our Oil & Gas Division. This pivotal role is focused on identifying, developing, and closing high-value business opportunities with International Oil Companies IOCs operating in Nigeria.
• The ideal candidate is a commercially savvy professional with a deep understanding of the Nigerian oil and gas ecosystem and a proven ability to translate relationships into long-term business growth . You will be responsible for strategically positioning JMG’s comprehensive portfolio—spanning power generation, solar and hybrid energy, electrical infrastructure, HVAC, elevators, and industrial equipment—as the preferred solution for IOC projects and operations .
Key Responsibilities
• Business Development & Strategy: Develop and implement strategic business plans to penetrate the IOC market, identify new opportunities, and expand JMG's market share in the oil and gas sector .
• Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision-makers, procurement leads, and project managers within major IOCs e.g., Shell, TotalEnergies, Chevron, ExxonMobil and other key stakeholders in the energy sector .
• Deal Origination & Closure: Lead the entire sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation to negotiating complex contracts and closing high-value deals . This includes preparing and delivering compelling technical and commercial proposals, bids, and presentations .
• Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and IOC budgets to anticipate opportunities and align JMG's strategy with market needs .
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal technical, finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction .
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred .
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the Nigerian oil and gas sector, with a specific focus on serving International Oil Companies IOCs .
• Proven Track Record: A demonstrable track record of winning and closing multi-million dollar contracts with IOCs in Nigeria .
• Network: A verifiable and robust network of contacts within the Nigerian IOC community and the broader oil and gas industry .
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the oil and gas value chain, including upstream operations, and the specific energy challenges faced by IOCs . Experience with power solutions, electrical infrastructure, or engineered equipment is a strong advantage.
• Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders effectively . Proficiency in preparing and submitting competitive tenders and proposals is essential.
