Job Description

The Hotel Accountant will be responsible for managing all financial transactions of the hotel, ensuring strict compliance with tax regulations and hospitality financial standards. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with strong integrity, capable of safeguarding the hotel’s financial health while providing management with accurate insights for effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in compliance with IFRS and Nigerian laws
• Maintain proper records of daily revenue, expenses and all financial transactions.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely settlements.
• Reconcile bank statements, POS transactions and cash balances daily.
• Monitor hotel budgets and provide regular financial forecasts and variance reports.
• Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to prevent errors, fraud or misuse of funds.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, tax laws and hotel financial policies.
• Prepare payroll accurately and on time, ensuring all deductions and remittances are compliant.
• Conduct periodic audits of financial records and operational processes.
• Support management with strategic financial planning and cost control initiatives.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities and financial institutions when required.

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (a Master’s degree is an advantage).
• ICAN/ACCA certification (or in the final stages of completion) is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience as an Accountant preferably in the hospitality/hotel industry and familiarity with hotel systems(Reeka).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Opera PMS, Sage, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong integrity, attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to work closely with management.

Working Days

Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm
Saturdays - 9am - 1pm
