About the Role
Our client, a leading financial institution in Yola, Adamawa, NG , is seeking an accomplished and strategic Head of Operations to lead its operational excellence initiatives. This senior executive role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bank's operational functions, including back-office processes, technology integration, service delivery, and risk management. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in banking operations, a strong understanding of process optimization, and a proven ability to manage complex teams and projects within the Banking & Finance sector. This is an on-site position, critical for ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and fostering a culture of efficiency and customer-centricity. You will be pivotal in driving operational strategy and ensuring the bank's infrastructure supports its growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery. Oversee the management of back-office operations, including transaction processing, settlements, and reconciliations. Lead and mentor the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure the effective implementation and management of banking technology systems and infrastructure. Manage operational risk, implement robust controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Drive projects related to process automation, digital transformation, and operational upgrades. Monitor key operational performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with IT, Risk Management, and other departments to ensure seamless operational integration. Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements for operational support. Contribute to the development of the bank's overall business strategy from an operational perspective. Requirements Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in banking operations management, with a strong focus on the Banking & Finance industry. Proven track record in optimizing operational processes, implementing technology solutions, and managing large teams. Deep understanding of banking products, services, and regulatory frameworks. Expertise in operational risk management, process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and project management. Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in banking operations software and technology platforms.
